“You stand in the presence of Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, rightful heir to the Iron Throne, rightful Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Protector of the Seven Kingdoms, the Mother of Dragons, the Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, the Unburnt, the Breaker of Chains.”
That’s the introduction to the beautiful Emilia Clarke known as “Khaleesi” in the epic saga we call as Game of thrones. The character she portrayed from the first season was that of a subtle, calm and innocent Princess who is longing to just go back to her home where her ancestors originally lived .
The first ever title she gains is that of Khaleesi when she is married off to Khal (King) Drogo of the Dothraki clan. She regains herself after the death of his Khal realizing that she is the rightful Targaryen for the Iron Throne and not her brother.
Lets see why we should get inspiration from the Daughter of the Mad King, Daenerys Targaryen.
She followed the Dothraki tradition of eating a raw heart of a stallion before giving birth to a child. She walked into the fire with her Dragon eggs later gave birth to 3 dragons. This added the titles of the “Unburnt and mother of dragons”.
Daenerys has always appreciated suggestions given by her close apprentices like Ser Jorah ,Misandei and Daario. And later, she incorporated The Imp, Tyrion Lannister as the Hand of the Queen. She knew when to take the suggestion and when to act like a queen.
Daenerys led the clan of Dothrakis to travel on sea which they had never experienced. Being an outsider and leading wild Dothrakis, The Unsullied, The second sons and the dragons was a challenge. The confident, strong and independent Khaleesi outgrew the level of expectation every time she decided to do something.
Well! She can’t be praised enough for the character she portrays so effortlessly and befittingly. The character reminds us that we women are the KHALEESI in our own eyes. Only then the world would recognise our worth.
