History fanatics will always find flaws in the depiction of noble kings and those gruesome wars, the silver screen has been both a boon and a bane to the ancient history. Controversies creep in like a Rattle snake generating more curiosity among the common folk, obviously everyone thinks “what may have been the reason behind such a controversy?”
The upcoming historical flick Padmavati directed by none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the brains behind 2015’s Bajirao Mastani is set to hit the silver screen on December 1st 2017.
Here’s 7 reasons why you should watch the upcoming historical flick:-
1.Yet another fable upon the immense beauty of a queen.
Just like its previous counterpart Bajirao Mastani, Padmavati is yet anothert story driven by the immense beauty of the actual “Rani Padmavati” (Queen Padmavati) or Padmini. As a matter of fact, the role has been played by the stunning Depika Padukone (my favourite as well) who played the role of Mastani in Bajirao Mastani. Padmavati was the daughter of King Gandharv Sen of Singhal Kingdom, Sri Lanka.

2.Ranveer Singh is to be seen as the antagonist.
Troubled fans were asking a string of questions as to which actor will be seen alongside the beauty queen, the silver screen superstar duo Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone was the quintessential choice of fans but their hopes were shredded when they came to know about Ranveer Singh’s role as Alauddin Khilji (the villain, or most probably the bad guy).

3.Shahid Kapoor will be seen alongside Deepika Padukone.
Cat got your tongue?
Rawal Ratan Singh, the love interest of Rani Padmini has been played by none other than Shahid Kapoor. The actor has been regarded as a precise artist with his role as Haider in the movie sharing the same name. Now it’s high time that we see yet another flabbergasting performance by the well received actor.

4.Controversies have surrounded the movie again.
Just like the regular cuts made by the censor board, controversies and public outroar play a vital role in a movie’s publicity now a days.
On March 6th 2017, members of the group Shri Rajput Karni Sena vandalized the Chittor Fort and broke the mirrors which had been installed some 40 years ago by the Archaeological Survey of India.

5.Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were the first choice before the final cast.
Once great buddies on stage, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were supposed to play the roles of Ratan Singh and Padmavati. But when approached by the director, refused to play the given roles because of a “very old rivalry” between the two superstars.
Too much for screenplay!

6. The original story has a fair share of plot twists.
Believe it or not but the real story behind Padmavati has so many twists and turns that the story itself has many versions written by different people through the ages, some of the famous works being:-
A. Malik Muhammad Jayasi’s Padmavat (1540)
B. Bengali adaptations (1884)
C. James Tod’s version (roughly in the 19th century)
D. Hemratan’s Gora Badal Padmini Chaupai (1589)
All these stories have the same frame except the twists and turns, certain events have been described in a more detailed manner than the other ones .
7.More twists and turns expected than the ones during the start.
Being a historical flick, the content may never be the same as it was during the reign of kings and queens, I bet even Saving Private Ryan has its fair share of historical irrelevance. With more and more controversies surrounding the movie way before the official release, certain areas of the social media have been taken by storm, fan theories, plot twists and more plot twists are the centre of attraction this year. Wonder why Katappa killed Bahubali is a question of the past, try finding the reason behind such plot twists. Maybe you’ll be taken by surprise as well.
